    A Mountain Quiltfest

I've always loved quilts since my mother hosted quilting parties in the past.  But I have never seen quilts like those on display at the yearly Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  My friend and I go every year.  This year, it is March 12-16, and admission to the quilt displays is free!  Some are very expensive, but for all the work that must go into the quilts, they are worth it.  My friend and I like to look at the wearable art and small wall hangings.too.

If you are a quilter, which I am not, I hear the vendor show each year, is one of the best around for buying items that you need.  There are also leading quilt instructors if you'd like to learn more about quilting.  So you can participate as much or as little as you like---learn a lot or just enjoy the wonderful quilts like my friend and I do.

This really is a great place to visit during Quiltfest. I suggested to a friend who quilts that she and her daughter, who is just learning, might want to sign up for some classes next year and go together. What a great experience that would be for mom and daughter.

And shopping is great at the festival!
